Lupita Nyong'o was born in Mexico City but moved back to Kenya when she was less than a year old and only returned when she turned sixteen to Mexico to study Spanish for a few months.
The second of six children Lupita was to finally attend Hampshire College to study film and theatre studies and eventually Yale school of Drama where she graduated in 2012. She was cast in 12 years a slave which brought her ultimately to the spotlight.
