#ASUUStrike Update: End in Sight…

After the lengthy meeting that started around 2:30pm yesterday and ended in the early hours of Tuesday, it seems both parties are beginning to reach a good consensus. Although what was said during the meeting hasn’t been confirmed from both ASUU president and government representatives.
ASUU president, Dr. Fagge when asked by journalists said he will have to meet with his Union before taking any decision as the decision will be made by them.
“We have had a lengthy meeting with Mr. President, rubbing minds on how best to address the problem of university education in this country. We now have a message from Mr. President that we are going to take to our members and we are expecting that our members will respond appropriately to his message,” he said, when later asked if they are calling off the strike today, he warned journalists not to put words into his mouth as the decision is for ASUU members not his.”The minister of labour also confirmed that both parties are coming to terms with each other already and that “ASUU might call off the strike without coming to them…”Are we indeed close to the end?
