Burkina Faso has withdrawn from the race. The U-20 Women National Team, Falconets, will play against their Sierra Leonean counterparts in the first round of the African qualifiers for next year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.This is according to a letter from the Confederation of African Football. The Falconets were previously drawn against Burkina Faso, which has since withdrawn from the qualifiers, and hence, the competition, due to lack of funds. The Falconets, who are already in a screening camp in Abuja, will host the first of the matches at the National Stadium, Abuja on October 26 before flying to Freetown for the second one, which comes up on November 9. Already, CAF has appointed Dayves Leopoldina from Guinea Bissau as Referee for the match in Abuja, with her compatriots, Amancio Deolinda and Gomes Antonio, as Assistants Referees 1 and 2 respectively. Fadouma Dia from Senegal will be Reserve Referee while Ghanaian, Helena Williams, will be the Match Commissioner.
